Militancy in Congo

The Democratic Republic of Congo is at the helm of problems again. The rebel group, infamously called M23, has been attacking the eastern part of the country which has been peaceful for quite some time. Congo and the United Nations Organizations have blamed the neighbouring Rwanda of backing the rebel group. Congo must upgrade its security measures and understand the problems that have caused militant devastation to its development aims.

Most countries live in peace, Congo must have its right to exist in peace and work for the welfare of its people. Militancy must be curbed and the causes of disenchantment must be debated in a society. Most militancy has certain economic and social roots. They are caused due to deprivation, ideological reasons or religious conflicts. The Democratic Republic of Congo would be well-suited to recognize the problems that have led to militancy in the region. African countries must have development aims, and pursue them through better prospects of education and healthcare facilities. They must not abrogate the aims that they have set for themselves, and should inquire on the causes of dissent among its people.

Africa must have better ways of life in the twenty-first century. Violence must be curbed fully and citizens should be given the peaceful conditions that they need in order to work and live in a country. Most countries in Africa have development aims, Congo is similar in its political demeanour. It must work to upgrade the security measures, and make its citizens as safe as possible under the given political scenario.

Africa should take the challenges of militancy as seriously as it must. The intractable problem of militancy must be raised in African Union and must be understood in order to bring it to a full closure. Militancy must not be allowed in Africa as it has development aims in the present century. Militancy has far repercussions for a developing society, it must not be allowed to foment dissent and mislead others or encourage violence. African countries should be more prepared to handle the problem of militancy and bring solace and peace to their productive citizens. All citizens have rights, and their rights cannot be considered to be dormant under any political scenario. The Democratic Republic of Congo along with other countries in the region must recognize the social causes of militancy and deal with it. The international community must use the leverage African Union has in the region to understand the politics and its distresses in Congo.
