An Injury to Countless
The Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to mediate in Iran. Russia has decided, at long last, to intervene in the political puzzle that the United States wanted to be embroiled in. The protests in Tehran have cost numerous lives and the mater hasn’t ended so far. Iran has not explained the rationale for protests to the international community. The violence in Iran’s capital has been a cause of political concern throughout the world. The slogans in support of freedom cannot be ignored, and the requisite for human rights must be considered significant. The risible Russia has raised its head, and wants to see a return to peace in the Islamic Republic. The Shia-dominated country has been left in tatters after the violent protests, and the respite that should have come didn’t arrive. Russia should be commended for intervening as a mediator and talking peace to a violence-prone Muslim country. The political protests have killed over two thousand, and injured countless. The loss to life and property should be considered tragic and its repair must become a priority for the government in Tehran. The United States had promised intervention but didn’t intervene even when human rights were being violated.
The American ennui was at its worst with the political slogans that the Trump administration has been capable of. The slogans of freedom did not excite the US government, and the lot of Iranians killed were avoided and left straddling for life. The government in Tehran must be more circumspect, and should not permit citizens’ peace to be flouted again. The life and property must be protected and all that a government must do, should be done in order to safeguard the human rights that Iran’s citizens are bestowed with. Blindly believing in American intervention in a Muslim country for the protection of human rights has gone in vain. The United States has been politically irresponsible for its threats to the government in Tehran, and the lame support that it offered to the protesters. The call for regime change should be considered a careless repertoire of politics that the United States has time and again used against its adversaries. The loss of lives was ignored by the US government and its call for intervention was thwarted. It’s a lesson that has been learnt internationally, and should be considered routine. Most political problems must be resolved politically, and domestically, and excessive reliance on the United States shouldn’t be considered a viable option. The mediation by Russia should be considered appropriate at the present juncture.
