The Territorial Squabble

The Trump administration in the United States has threatened excessive tariffs on European nations over Greenland. The controversy over Greenland has not been resolved. The Danish territory is being falsely claimed as American territory by the Trump administration. The farce of politics is for all to come to terms with. The twenty-first century should be used to augment economic interests rather than squabble over territory in the Western hemisphere. The administration in the United States should prove its mettle on economic problems and resolve hard-pressed problems domestically. The problems of crime, unemployment and lack of access in the sectors of education and healthcare have caused considerable duress within the United States and should be considered adamant for an efficient administration. The territorial quandary over Greenland hasn’t been the best face the United States has put in the world. It should behave properly with European states rather than use tariffs as a threat to augment its territorial aims. Greenland is an ice-covered country which has been part of Denmark, the sudden interest of the United States in Greenland has not been the best case that it has put forth.

The United States must resolve its territorial problem in the United Nations General Assembly. It must describe its aims for a nation and why it has amazingly laid a claim to it. The territories are not to be exchanged haphazardly and require considerable debate. The United States should not use tariffs to limit European nations’ trading ability and exert an undue influence on Greenland. The matter related to Greenland should be considered one problem that it has, and should use United Nations to address the territorial issue. The United States should be wise enough to collaborate with international institutions as the United Nations General Assembly and not use irrelevant tactics as part of statecraft. The nations that belong to Europe should be given fair advantage when it comes to trade. Tariffs are being used to browbeat nations that could be more competitive. It’s an economic strategy that the United States has been using to augment its economic aims, and has been permitted by its treasury. The controversy related to Greenland should be resolved and Europe should be given the privilege of trade that it deserves. Greenland cannot be a bulwark of all problems that the United States has been facing and it must provide a political explanation to the international community to resolve the intractable territorial matter. In the near future, Greenland might be used as a prop to build its economy.
