Africa’s Economic Development

Africa needs economic development. With change in economic scenario around the world, African countries should be made more competitive. African countries along with other developing economies must invest on the sector of higher education. The education can become a benchmark of its future success. Africa must invest on building new universities and colleges of arts and sciences, and use its resources wisely. The African countries would be well-advised to use its resources for the welfare of their citizens. Africa must imbibe the virtues of democracy and give more credibility to the work that it has been doing on the economic front. The economies must become the backbone of its future growth and should be given the attention that they duly deserve in the prevalent century. African countries should be more adept at investment and raise it as swiftly as it must in the sectors of higher education. A better higher education would give it an advantage in the future decades. Africa must invest in education as it brings about a change in the outlook of young citizens and gives them the tools to function in an economy. It gives them the tools of the future to deal with the coming economic challenges. African countries would be well-advised to invest in higher education and make it a policy priority. The higher education has the potential to uplift millions out of poverty and give them a life of decency.

Economic development should go in tandem with investment in higher education. One can be ignored only at the peril of another. A good higher education system paves a way for nation-building and gives men and women an opportunity to democratically participate in a country. The higher education should not be overlooked by African countries, including the African Union. The higher education needs more investment at the present juncture and should be given the due that it has been yearning for. Education makes men and women live in fulfilment, African citizens should not be denied the rights that they aptly deserve. Africa should invest in education and allocate more finances than it has thus far. The role of higher education must be emphasized in making the economy and should be given the attention that it rightfully deserves in the twenty-first century. More finances should be allocated for the prudent purpose of higher education in African countries. Africa cannot be left aside in the twenty-first century and the privilege of education should be provided to African countries. The international community, including the United Nations would be well-suited to explain the efficacy of education to African countries. The African countries have been quite a laggard when it comes to higher education and therefore more money must be expended on the sectors that support and enhance higher education capability of African countries. Africa should not be overlooked and its higher education must be met forthrightly. Although all changes are gradual and require ample time and effort, thus should be the case with higher education. The plan of higher education can only be shelved at its own high risk.
