Never Been Witnessed
The interim president of Venezuela has replaced top military commanders and has taken their place. Even the Defence minister has been fired by Delcy Rodriguez, the interim President, who considered the former minister to be close to the dictator and former president of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro. Venezuela has had a new beginning and it must use it to favour the economy. The interim president is in the right to take the command and fire ministers who were close to the dictatorial regime. The dictators have no place in the prevalent century. The socialist Venezuela wasn’t a very socialist nation; dictators ran the roost and most of the money that should have been spent on people’s welfare was spent on personal gains. The Venezuela as a nation suffered and was given short-shrift internationally. The arrest of a dictator has brought a new hope to a nation that had been torn by civil disenchantment and gang wars. The new president will have her or his hands full and should work harder to make Venezuela a better place to live in. The South American nations have suffered under the guise of socialist ideas. Most of them were not implemented, and socialism became a garb to loot people’s money. The people’s conditions were left as they were without much ado towards their welfare. It had been a classic case of third world socialism, wherein rulers promised welfare to the people but in return gave them the loot that had never been witnessed in the history of the nation.
The profundity of the situation cannot be avoided, and all who are concerned about goodwill towards men and women must wonder at the audacious nature of socialist regimes. Socialism has played havoc in the third world and has been used as a political ideology of graft and prejudice. Venezuela has been fortunate enough to free itself from the shackles of a socialist regime and a socialist president. It must now follow the rule of law, human rights and fulfilment of basic necessities of life for all its citizens. It must use market mechanism to uplift people out of poverty and give them a life of decency and individual dignity that they have always yearned for. The firing down of a corrupt minister is a bold step in that direction. The men who were close to the dictator, should be absolved of all state duties. Socialism hasn’t worked for them and neither shall it work for their penal affairs. They must be given a fair trial and due process must be followed under the dictates of the rule of law. The rule of law must prevail in Venezuela and rueful mood that the nation finds itself in must be cared for. The rule of law is an exemplary process of living together and should be given fair advantage in a new regime. The government in Venezuela would be well-advised to follow it strictly and not follow any other methods that were used by the erstwhile regime ruthlessly ran by a dictator. The life and property must be protected through the rule of law and citizens must be given their dues.
