An Act of War
An Iranian minister has accused the United States for its blockade of ports and has called it an act of war. The United States must be circumspect enough not to halt commerce in the region. The ongoing crisis should not hit the economy too hard. The United States must prevent itself from causing further disintegration of Iran’s economic interests. Economy must be preserved and all rights must be reserved for the sovereign nation to exercise its domination over its ports and other natural and man-made resources. The United States must exercise restraint when it comes to Iranian ports as they are life-line to a nation’s commerce. The blockade can also be considered illegal under international norms and should not be allowed. International community must intervene in the present fiasco and ask the United States to refrain itself from further escalation that might lead to violence in the region. The blockade of Iranian ports should not be considered an act of war, but merely a political hindrance. Iran must not jeopardize its interests by its rhetoric and use this opportunity to further peace in the region. It must agree to peace talks and resolve its long lasting differences with the United States. It must not abrogate its chief responsibility towards its citizens and keep them safe and sound under all circumstances of politics.
