A New Proposal
Iran has submitted its proposal. It wants its nuclear program to be given a short-shrift for now, and has requested for the disputes regarding the shipping lanes of Hormuz to be resolved with immediacy. The United States must pay heed to Iran’s proposal and extend its ceasefire. The present ceasefire must be considered important as it has brought much-needed respite to the Middle-East. The ongoing conflict has killed thousands, and made countless homeless. The international community must acknowledge the costs of war and bring about a semblance of sanity and peace to the region. The avoidance with regards to Iran is not the best course of action. It must pay attention to Iran’s proposal and bring about a change in politics of the region. Best politics is one that supports commerce and gives businesses freedom to function in peace. Iran’s war with United States and Israel has been a costly affair for the all the parties concerned. They must come together and resolve their differences. The ignorance of Iran is not the right political move as the ceasefire must be made indefinite and permanent in the region. The citizens in the Middle-East must be allowed to live and work in peace and not be embroiled in war. The United States must take this opportunity to talk to Iran and bring about a change in its politics. The nuclear program must be dealt through auspices of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the problems with Strait of Hormuz ought to be resolved using conventions of United Nations with regards to sea-routes and fares.
The United States must accept that Iran needs a ceasefire and keeping it on the brink of war is not the best policy it has. The ongoing conflict must be decreased and eventually closed. Having unfriendly relations is acceptable in politics, but war should be made detrimental at all costs. The United States should use this opportunity to fulfil its mandate with Iran and give it the benefit that it has been seeking internationally. The latest meeting between Russia and Iran was given an intransigent support that the latter needed. Iran was praised by Russia for its bravery and has been given the much-sought international support irrespective of American views on the political matter. The disputed parties must go to the United Nations rather than play havoc with each other and keep the citizens under the shadow of a looming war again. The Gulf States need security from the United States which it must provide under the given political circumstances. The United States would be well-suited to work with Iran under the leadership of United Nations. It has been unwilling to work unilaterally or through mediation. The talks are necessary condition which must be satisfied at the present juncture of politics. Needless skirmishes in the future ought to be made preventable. The Peace Talks, in all probability might not resume, unless and until there’s pressure from the international community and American allies. The United States must repose its trust in its allies in the Middle-East and protect them rather than leave them at the mercy of a belligerent power.
