The Upper Limit
India’s power demand had reached its upper limit. The growing demand for cooling appliances may rise due to high temperatures. The extreme heat caused in summer can be attributed to climate change. The rise in global temperatures, melting of glaciers and deforestation are some of the severe outcomes of change in environment. India must adapt and mitigate climate problems and do as much as it is conveniently possible under the given circumstances of life. India’s environmental problems ought to be classified, and each of its problems must be dealt singularly. The rising temperature is a cause for concern, although summers in India are not too benign and bring about substantial heat. India must also raise the issues of historic justice as Indian economy is not the only one that has been polluting the planet. Industrialized countries with their heavy consumption models are at the forefront of pollution and emissions of greenhouse gases. The whole problem of climate change has been made by advanced economies and they must share a larger burden in reducing it. The climate change along with loss of biodiversity can be considered some of the major problems that societies have to come to terms with.
India must adapt to climate change and encourage greener lifestyles among its citizens. India along with other developing economies must be astute enough to make their cities greener, and make their citizens environmentally-friendly. The greener lifestyles would a go long-way in reducing the problems of pollution and in reduction of carbon in the atmosphere. The government with the private sector must use market mechanisms to manage environmental problems. Carbon markets and polluter-pays principle can be some of the chief scientific solutions in reduction of hazardous gases in the atmosphere. Nature ought to be protected from over-exploitation, and India with its green conscience must play a more active role than it has thus far. The greener lifestyles, along with better urban transport systems can pave way for a better India and an environmentally-friendly country. Other developing economies must also follow suit and encourage greener lifestyles among its adherents. The problems of climate change are here to stay and developing economies must swiftly adapt to the changing circumstances of life. The cities in India and other developing economies must be made greener than they are so far. Greener cities would pollute less and protect natural environment. Greener cities are a significant way to deal with environmental problems. Nature has given life to humanity, and now it’s humanity responsibility to protect nature. Both are interdependent and require protection from exploitation. Nature should be respected by mankind and its interests must be considered at par with humanity’s. Nature’s interests cannot be abrogated and left for exploitation. Greener cities in developing economies must be made a part of the solution to solve problems of climate change.
